  Machupicchu - Galapagos 12D/11N

You should plan to arrive in Quito 2 days before your departure to the Galapagos, to ensure arrival at the Island of Santa Cruz on time to board the chosen cruise boat.The cost of the tour depends on the cruise boat selection. Bookings for this tour are recommended one year advance, given the great demand for cruise boats leaving from Puerto Ayora as well as train tickets to Machupicchu.

Day 1. Baltra to Puerto Ayora. Overnight in a hostel.
We will arrive at the Baltra Airport and our guide will accompany us across the Itabaya Canal to the Island of Santa Cruz where we will continue by car to Puerto Ayora. Along the way we will visit the Twins (volcanic structures). We will reach the hostel and in the afternoon go on a City Tour of Puerto Ayora, optionally visiting the Charles Darwin Marine Biology Centre.

Days 2, 3 4 5 . Cruise among the Islands.
In the morning we will visit the extraordinary Volcanic Lava Tunnels. Then we will board your cruise ship to explore the most important islands for 4 days and 3 nights (you can see the itinerary of the cruise on the virtual CD-ROM). We will view wonderful places and abundant marine fauna:sea lions, marine iguanas, blue-footed boobies, cormorants and others We will scuba dive or snorkel, observing many marine species: colorful tropical fish, sea turtles and sea lions. We will walk on paths on various islands and have plenty of time to enjoy the splendors of this truly unique Natural Marine Reserve.

Day 5. Arrival in Puerto Ayora. Overnight in Puerto Ayora

Day 6. Return flight and overnight in Quito or Guayaquil.

Day 7. Arrival in Lima. Overnight in a hostel in Lima.

Day 8. Cusco, City Tour. Overnight in Cusco
Pick up from the airport and transfer to the hostel. Afternoon City Tour to the most important and significant archaeological sites in Cusco: the Cathedral, the Temple of Coricancha, the Fortress of Sacsayhuaman, Quenqo, Pucapucara and Tambomachay. Approximate duration: 5 hours.

Day 9. Cusco, Sacred Valley. Overnight in Ollantaytambo.
Leave Cusco towards the Northeast by private bus on a paved road, where we will observe some of the most beautiful mountain and glacier landscapes in the Andes. Our first stop will be the View Point of Taray, where we will see handmade Peruvian textiles and continue to the town of Pisac where we will visit its Artisan Market and the archaeological site of Pisac (3395 mt asl). Continuing our tour we'll pause at Urubamba, the heart of the Sacred Valley, for a delicious buffet lunch, and thirty minutes later reach the town of Ollantaytambo, where we will visit the spectacular Inca Fortress. After the visit we will spend the night in a Hotel.

Day 10. Ollantaytambo Machupicchu. Full day. Overnight in Machupicchu.
Departure in the morning by train from the station of Ollantaytambo to Machu Picchu—approximate duration 1h25. Hotel checkin; then we'll visit the Sanctuary of Machupicchu for about 3 hours.Return to Hotel. Dinner.

Day 11 . Machupicchu Cusco.
After breakfast you'll have the chance to see the Orchid Botanical Museum, the Waterfalls of Mandor - a beautiful area which is part of the hotel grounds - and depending on the weather and on luck we'll see the Andean Spectacled Bear. After lunch the guide will accompany you on the train back to Cusco. Transfer to your hotel in Cusco.

Day 12. Cusco – Airport
Pick up from your hostel to the airport to catch your flight to Lima.
