  Wonders of Peru 17D/16N

Day 1 . Lima.
We pick you up at the airport and take you to the chosen hotel in Miraflores with its many restaurants, nightlife and Artisan Markets. The guide welcomes you and provides further explanations about the tour and answers your questions. Rest and and then enjoy lunch in a typical Peruvian restaurant. Free time .Return and dinner at the hotel.

Day 2 . Lima–City tour

Breakfast, and then we begin visits through the center of Lima to colonial houses and the main churches in the capital, such as the Cathedral, the Church of San Francisco with its Catacombs, the Archaeological Museum and the Museum of Gold. Hotel.

Day 3 . Lima-Paracas.
After breakfast we go by private transportation by boat to the Ballestas Islands Marine Reserve; followed by a land excursion to the Paracas National Reserve. Enjoy a typical Peruvian seafood lunch before we continue our travel to Nazca, where we'll spend the night.

Day 4 . Paracas-Nazca.
In the morning after breakfast, we will go to the airport in the town of Nazca. In a charter flight in a small plane we'll fly over the mysterious Nazca lines, for an approximately 40 minute overflight. We return to the hotel where we will have lunch and rest. Then we will visit the Cemetery of Chauchilla, the Nazca irrigations aqueducts. Visit the demonstration center for Nazca ceramics. Overnight and dinner in a Country Hotel.

Day 5. Nazca – Arequipa
Early in the morning we leave in a private car for the White City of Arequipa where we will arrive late in the afternoon.Checkin to your hotel.Dinner.

Day 6. Arequipa City Tour
Early in the morning we'll pick you up from your hotel to begin the City Tour visiting the most beautiful places in the city, such as the Convent of Santa Catalina and the Cathedral. Then we'll take the bus to Puno, and arrive at your hotel.

Day 7 . Puno-Uros-Puno - Amantani
After breakfast, we'll visit the highest navigable lake in the world,
the “Titicaca”, our boat will take us to the Floating Island of Uros. We will visit and share traditions with the local population and then continue to the island of Amantani accompanied by a local guide from the community who will offer us accommodation in his home and will guide us for 2 days introducing us to the traditions of the highlands. There we will spend the night with the family of the guide, joining them for dinner.

Day 8. Amantani all day
Accompanied by our bilingual guide and the local guide, we'll learn about some of the customs of the typical Highlanders, as we tour part of the island with its primarily vegeterian culture.

Day 9. Amantani – Puno - Cusco
Early in the morning we'll go to the dock to take the boat back to Puno, which will take approximately 4 hours. In Puno we'll take our private vehicle to Cusco and we'll drop you off at your hotel.Free day.

Day 10. Cusco, City Tour. Overnight in Cusco. 3300 mts asl.
Hotel pick up to begin the city tour which includes the visit to the most important archaeological sites in Cusco, such as the Cathedral, the Temple of Coricancha, Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Puca pucara, Tambomachay. Approximate duration 5 hours. Hotel.

Day 11. Sacred Valley. Overnight in the Sacred Valley.
Early morning pick up from your hotel by private bus towards the Sacred Valley, along a paved road where we will observe the most beautiful landscapes of mountains and glaciers in the Andes. Our first stop will be at the scenic point of Taray, and our second stop will be Awana Kancha, where we will observe hand woven Peruvian textiles. We'll continue till the town of Pisac where we will drive up to the highest part of the mountain for a guided tour of the archaeological site of Pisac. After a short break visiting the traditional market in Pisac, we'll continue towards Urubamba where we will enjoy an extensive buffet lunch in a country restaurant.After lunch we'll visit the archaeological site of Ollantaytambo. Checkin to your Hotel. Dinner.

Day 12. Ollantaytambo Machupicchu. Full day. Overnight in Machupicchu.
Departure in the morning by train from the station of Ollantaytambo to Machupicchu-approximate duration 1h25. Checkin to your Hotel.Then we'll visit the Sanctuary of Machupicchu for about 3 hours. Return to Aguas Calientes (optional visit to the hot springs). Dinner at Hotel.

Day 13. Machupicchu Cusco.
After breakfast you'll have the chance to see the Orchid Botanical Museum, the Waterfalls of Mandor- a beautiful area which is part of the hotel grounds - and depending on the weather and on luck we'll see the Andean Spectacled Bear. After lunch the guide will accompany you to board the train back to Cusco. Transfer to your hotel in Cusco.

Day 14. Cusco-Kcosñipata Pilcopata-Manu.
Departure from Cusco towards the south west crossing the Andes to the town of Paucartambo. We continue to the highest point where the Cloud Forest marks the beginning of the Manu Biosphere Reserve (3,400mts asl). We will cross through the Cloud Forest observing the great variety of flora and, if we are lucky, species of exotic birds. We'll stop in San Pedro to observe the mating dance of the Cock of the Rocks, the National Bird of Peru - very beautiful because of its bright red color and blac wings (1600 mts asl). We'll continue our descent to Pilcopata where we will spend the night in our country hotel.

Day 15. Pilcopata-Amazonia Lodge.
After breakfast, we'll enjoy a boat trip, reaching the port of Atalaya on the Kosñipata river, a Class III rafting experience. In Atalaya our boat will take us on the River Alto Madre de Dios to the eco-hotel Amazonia Lodge. We'll walk around the hotel's trails and observe a variety of exotic birds. Dinner and overnight in the hotel.

Day 16. Amazonia Lodge–Cusco.
In the morning we'll return, crossing the river Alto Madre de Dios in our boat to the port of Atalaya. Our car will wait for us to return to Pilcopata where we'll have lunch. We'll continue on a 08 hour drive back to Cusco. Arrival in the evening and overnight in a 3 star hotel.

Day 17. Cusco - Lima
After breakfast, we'll drop you off at the airport to return to Lima.
